This year, proceeds from our annual Oktoberfest will support an exciting new project at Hackensack Meridian Bayshore Medical Center: opening a 10-bed Intermediate Care Unit. Unused space on our 4 South inpatient unit will be fully renovated and reopened as a step-down unit from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) — providing critical care for patients who no longer require the ICU, but are not yet ready for a standard medical-surgical floor. Your generosity will help fund this transformation, which includes 10 private patient rooms with new flooring, lighting and furniture, as well as essential technology such as bedside monitors, specialized clinical equipment and patient televisions. By repurposing this space, we will expand our capacity to care for our community’s most vulnerable patients, improve throughput from the ICU and ensure that every patient receives the right level of care at the right time — close to home.
